Dear host family,

My name is Daniela, I’m 14 years old and I live in a town near Madrid called Boadilla del Monte, it is a very small town, and although I live on the outskirts, I have many friends who live in the center, on the outskirts there are many green areas where my family and I like to walk. My school is close to home, although I have to go by car, but some days my best friend and I like to walk home because we are neighbors. I have two brothers, an older one, called Fernando, he is 18 years old, he also went to the United States a few years ago, and he said that he had a great time and that he did not want to return to Spain. My little brother, Rafa, is 11 years old. Also, I have a small dog, his name is Miko, his breed is a long-haired Jack Russell. Whenever I’m with them we usually cook, watch movies with popcorn.

I am an active person, but I also like to enjoy some relax time. My friends tell me that I am very funny and that I always try to make them laugh, even if they are sad I always get it. I am a happy and outgoing girl who loves to meet people and make friends. I have a very good relationship with my family, and they always tell me that I am very independent. I am respectful and polite, and I always like to help with whatever I can at home although I am a little messy, my mother says she is my kitchen helper.

I have many hobbies, for example, I love to dance, in fact, every Tuesday and Thursday I go to a dance’s class, and every year we have two performances, one at Christmas and one in the summer. Also, this summer I have learned to dance the traditional dances of my holiday town, and I danced in a square dressed in traditional costumes, although I have been dressing since I was very little. I also love to ski, we have an apartment in the Pyrenees mountains, and we usually go skiing every winter, I have been skiing since I was 5 years old, but I stopped for a few years, and then I came back with more strength. Another thing that I love to do is cook, I like to try making new dishes and then my family try them. I don’t have any particular favorite dish, I like to eat everything, and even if there is a dish that I don’t like, I usually eat everything very well.

I have many friends who have gone to the United States or some girls on Tik Tok who tell their experiences, and everyone says that it is a wonderful experience. I want to go, because I would love to know new cultures and traditions of countries, and although I will miss my family and friends very much, but I hope I make many new friends. When I’m there I would like to join the cheerleading squad, if it is possible . Also, when I get back from this exchange I would like to pass the C2 English exam, but that would be later.
