Dear potential host family,

Hello I am Emilie. I live in the Netherlands with my family. I absolutely love my family. I have two sisters. One is younger than me. Her name is Isabelle (14 years old). I can always laugh with her and I have a lot of similarities with her. I also have an older sister. Her name is Charlotte (18 years old). She is really kind and giving. I can also always go to her for any advice I need. This is why I can’t imagine life without them. I feel lucky to have sisters close to my age. That is nice because they can relate to me and I can relate to them. I still have both of my parents in my life. My dad is hardworking and caring. If there is something wrong, he is always there for me. My mom was always at home during my childhood. I am very thankful for that. If I want someone to chat to, she is there for me. I absolutely adore my dog and cat. My dog is a Labrador mix. He is very gentle and sweet. My cat is quite shy and occasionally loves a little cuddle but that lasts for about 10 minutes. I love them both. I am a caring person. I can be extroverted and introverted. I am someone you can have a laugh with and someone you can have a serious conversation with. I am very understanding and I am not very judgmental.

I really enjoy playing field hockey. I have been playing it for 6 years. It really helps me relax. When I play hockey, it clears my mind completely. I also enjoy cooking and baking. Because I can use my creativity and my taste buds to create. Taking pictures brings me joy because I can make art out of what I see in my everyday life. I also love to travel. I love to explore new places and cultures. I also love the water. I have always enjoyed the water since I was little.

I have chosen to do this experience because the American culture is really interesting to me and I want to discover it in real life. I have always heard of the wide streets and the big high schools. I have always been told that everything is bigger in America. I’m currently living in an active family, which I really like, and we enjoy playing board games together as a family. I would love to share my culture and my favorite board games with you, and learn more about American culture and other typical American activities. I hope that I improve my English and learn more about life in America.
